Midland Library Launches Community Fundraising Campaign - Goal $500,000
On Saturday February 20th, the Midland Library hosted an authors reading to launch the community portion of its fundraising campaign. Bill Molesworth opened the event by announcing the Library's fundraising goal of $500,000. Councillor Pat File spoke on behalf of Mayor Downer and wished the Library every success in its fundraising campaign. Authors Kevin Sylvester, Emily Shultz and John Brody came from Toronto as part of the Harbourfront authors series to read from their latest books. Coles Books staff was on hand to sell the books and the authors stayed to chat with fans and sign copies of their books.
Library has booth at Mountain View Mall
The Friends of the Library will be manning a booth at the Mountain View Mall on weekends starting Februrary 21st and running until the end of June to help raise money for the Library Expansion Fundraising Campaign. For sale will be book bags for adults and children, note cards, postcards and Garden Tour Tickets. Drop by and see pictures of the completed Library and make a donation to the Library Expansion Campaign
