Virtual – Simcoe Reads Author Visit with Amanda Leduc

Thursday, September 9, 7:00pm

Join us for a free online Simcoe Reads author visit from Amanda Leduc! Our local champion, Cady McLaughlin, has chosen Leduc’s magic realist novel of tragedy and resilience, The Centaur’s Wife. It imagines what it means for us, and our world, to be broken, changed, and grieving…and to be resilient, sufficient, and bound together.

Amanda Leduc is a disabled writer and author of the non-fiction book Disfigured: on Fairy Tales, Disability, and Making Space, as well as many award-winning essays, books, and stories. She has cerebral palsy and she makes her home in Hamilton, Ontario, where she serves as the Communications and Development Coordinator for the Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD), Canada’s festival for diverse authors and stories.
